Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate Alice Humphreys is continuing to campaign regarding the future of Epsom Hospital. Although it seems that maternity and children's services will continue at Epsom, some uncertainties remain about the hospital's future management.

Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust has a project to the structural the structural organisation of Epsom Hospital and St Helier Hospital and Alice recently met the Project Director. Whilst the Trust acknowledges that the current set up is not working, it also says that a stand-alone future for Epsom Hospital is not viable. What might work and needs to be investigated is a combination with other Surrey hospitals.

Alice says: "I agree with the Trust that having Epsom as a stand-alone hospital is not a viable or desirable option due to its small size. However what the Trust has neglected to do so far is sufficiently build its links with other local hospitals such as those in NHS Surrey, but I am pleased to say it seems finally to be seriously investigating this option."
