Consultation is under way on Stage 1 of the Dorking Town Area Action Plan - including controversial proposals about land allocation for retail, housing and business use over the next 20 years. It also addresses roads, traffic, parking, civic and leisure facilities and improving the town's appearance.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Derrick Burt said "Please make sure you put your views forward. You only have until the end of March so don't miss out". To comment on the plan go to the website at www.molevalley.gov.uk/LDF or request a form from the Planning Policy Team at Pippbrook (tel 01306 879281)
