Our PetitionSummary of AimOppose threat to Epsom Hospital's delivery ward and in-patient children's service Full Text of PetitionEpsom and St Helier NHS Trust is considering closing Epsom Hospital's delivery ward in its maternity unit, and its inpatient children's service. These services would be merged with those at St Helier Hospital. St Helier is in Carshalton. Travel times form Mole Valley to St Helier can be twice the travel times to Epsom. If a woman is in labour, needing to get to a delivery ward urgently, that time could be crucial. The population of Mole Valley is going to increase significantly over the next few years as many new homes are built here. The demand for hospital services is therefore likely to grow. We, the undersigned, oppose the threats to Epsom Hospital's delivery ward and inpatient children's service.
