Abhi Magesh

I'm Abhi, 28, and I've called Westcott home for nine years. Working in the Courts system has given me deep insight into how liberal values—equal access to justice and due process—protect our democracy and guard against arbitrary power.

As an immigrant who has thrived in Britain, I understand what makes this country exceptional: a place where merit matters and everyone gets a fair chance to succeed. In this age of populism, it's vital we defend these values.

I'm standing for the new East Surrey Unitary Authority because our area deserves representation that fights for concrete change. My priorities are championing local enterprise and affordable housing, pushing for better transport links that connect our rural communities, and holding water companies accountable on sewage while driving sustainable development.

The new unitary structure gives us a unique opportunity to integrate planning with transport, support our businesses with proper infrastructure, and ensure our villages thrive without losing their character. I'm ready to bring energy, fresh thinking, and principled leadership to deliver for Dorking Hills and East Surrey."
