Claire Malcomson

Claire is Deputy Leader of MVDC and Cabinet Member for Climate Change and has been a District Councillor for 11 years. Claire leads on net zero, biodiversity, and
wellbeing.

Claire has a wealth of experience and cares especially about listening to residents. She has fought long and hard to lower Mole Valley’s carbon footprint, resulting in the target to achieve net zero by 2030 through energy efficiency measures in Council buildings and piloting solar car ports at Leatherhead Leisure Centre. Her ambition is to continue this work on the New East Surrey Council.

Abhi Magesh

Abhiram (Abhi) is currently a Mole Valley District Councillor for Mickleham, Westcott and Okewood, serving as the Group Chair and Vice Chair of the Development Management Committee.

Abhi was elected in 2023 and has made his mark as an active participant in Council meetings, advocating for residents. He promotes measures to protect essential services and to support local businesses, appropriate development and integrated transport, particularly in rural areas. 

His ambition is to represent the voices of local residents so they are heard loud and clear in the new East Surrey Council.
