What's happening to local councils?

Soon, Mole Valley District Council, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council and Surrey County Council will cease to exist along with other districts and boroughs in Surrey. They will be replaced by two councils; East Surrey and West Surrey. The Lib Dems believe this can and will lead to a lack of local representation. For example, if you live in the North of Mole Valley, you could go from having 8 council representatives, to just 2. Surrey is unique, in that it has very few Town and Parish Councils, so both Mole Valley and Reigate and Banstead Councils are asking residents if they want them.
