Cllr Caroline Joseph, Mole Valley District Council's Cabinet Member for Services and Security, recently spoke to BBC Surrey about the need to create more affordable housing options in Mole Valley.

With 1 in 5 homes in the district now over £1 million, she outlined measures the council are working on to meet the needs of all residents. The new Affordable Housing Strategy will be going to Scrutiny Committee and Cabinet in July. Priorities include increasing the delivery of affordable homes in the district including in our rural communities, promoting an affordable private rented sector, ensuring that rents on new developments are at social rent levels where possible and making best use of existing affordable housing stock.

Commenting on the work being done, Cllr Joseph emphasised that we are “committed to supporting residents and working towards a more balanced and inclusive housing market in Mole Valley.”
