Ensuring value for money

Cabinet Member for Sustainable Economy Lib Dem Councillor Clayton Wellman says the Council expects high standards from its contractors and will enforce contract terms when necessary.

"During the recent car park refurbishment, the lines put down in many car parks for the EV bays were not of a sufficient standard. They immediately started flaking off. We took it up with the contractor and demanded they make good. That has been undertaken across a number of car parks, including Lower Shott, during October. This was at absolutely no cost to MVDC and was completed as a part of the original contract for the works to bring them up to sufficient standard."
