Lawrence Penney was elected as Lib Dem councillor for the Bookham East & Eastwick Park at a by-election on 10th July 2025.

Lawrence has lived in Bookham for 34 years and is a qualified chartered accountant. Before his retirement he worked in senior finance and executive roles. He has three adult children and is proud to be able to help look after his four grandchildren. 

Lawrence has been an active member of our community helping run the Bookham Tennis Club for over 30 years, and through the tennis club helped to raise funds for the renewal of South Bookham Space. 

He enjoys organising charitable events and has hosted a number of fund raisers with local musicians. 

Lawrence is a keen walker and cyclist and champions safer roads
