Resurfacing needed in Newdigate

The multi purpose surface directly outside the Community Centre on the Brocus in Newdigate has fallen into disrepair and is not fit for purpose. In previous years it was used by young people and women playing Netball and Basketball. The surface is now so bad it is an eyesore and unsafe for team sport.

The young people of the village are keen to be able to be able to play sport on the hard court and have expressed the desire to fundraise to help to fix it. Grant funding can help them to achieve their goal to get this much needed community facility back in use.

District Councillor Alcia Loach has supported the Community Centre in applying for grant funding and hopes to provide further support to help get coaching once the resurfacing is complete and the hard court is once again fit for use.
