New analysis by the Liberal Democrats has revealed Britain's nine biggest water companies made a total £2.8bn in operating profits last year. Thames Water, which is responsible for waste water in our area and dumps sewage into the River Mole at its Pixham works, made £488.8m in 2020/21.
As the Climate Change Cabinet Member, Claire Malcomson led the Liberal Democrat Administration's Motion in the Council Chamber, working cross party to Declare an Ecology Emergency. MVDC is one of only 15% of councils to do this and is proud to spearhead this initiative.
As your Climate Change Cabinet Member, I am making sure lots is going on: The 24th September is the first day of The Great Big Green Week, which runs until 2nd October. Mole Valley District Council is supporting this by asking our residents to make a pledge. The pledge will be for 2 months.
